The French teacher

Pauline Mourrat runs New Life in France (in Sophia) who have just started offering a Conversation Club on a Monday night, so I caught up with her for a chat of course

Dawn: Hi Pauline, how long have you been in the area?

Pauline: Three years, but I come from Aix-en-Provence so it’s not really that far away or that different.

Dawn: What’s your favourite object or gadget?

Pauline: My laptop, I’m lost without it!

Dawn: What’s your favourite food?

Pauline: I love sweet things, so it has to be dessert.

Dawn: And so your guilty food pleasure would be?

Pauline: Chocolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Dawn: Which would you chose for a day off, a trip to the mountains or a day by the sea?

Pauline: The Esterels  - that way you can have both. For me holidays are like that too. I like chosing places that are calm but are also near enough to the buzz - contradictory I know...

Dawn: What makes you cross?

Pauline: When things don’t go the way I want them to go. So quite often – ha ha – I’m working on it!

Dawn: What makes you laugh?

Pauline: When I’m surprised.

Dawn: What’s your advice to people reading this who want to improve their French?

Pauline: Just jump in! There’s really nothing to fear.

Dawn: Tell me about the new Conversation Club.

Pauline: We meet twice a month on a Monday night to discuss pre-arranged themes and current affairs in French. A book of tickets for five sessions costs €50, working out at €10 per visit and you don’t have to be an existing New Life in France student to join in.
