I went to see Valerie from the 'Institut de beauté Valerie' to see what’s popular and why...
DH: How long have you lived in the area?
Valerie: Close to 24 years.
DH: Where were you born?
Valerie: Nancy, north east France.
DH: What’s your guilty food pleasure?
Valerie: Gateau
DH: When you’re not working, where would you prefer to spend the day, in the mountains or on the beach?
Valerie: I like both, but probably the mountains.
DH: How long have you had the beauty centre?
Valerie: 18 years! I’ve been a beautician for 22 years now, but previously worked for the big names like Clarins.
DH: How do the treatments that you provide change from summer and winter? Do customers want different things?
Valerie: Generally speaking, in the winter clients are more interested in having facials and massage treatments, whereas in summer people are thinking about waxing and body scrubs, getting their skin ready for the sun. Manicures and pedicures are equally popular all year round.
DH: What the most popular treatment that you offer?
Valerie: All the different types of facials. They are always very popular.
DH: What if anything does RLP lack?
Valerie: I like it as it is, but possibly a square, a centre to the town, but how that’s done to please everyone is another thing...
Valerie and her colleague offer treatments using Decleor products from 8.30 to 12.30, and then 1.30 to 6pm from Tuesday to Friday and non stop from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturdays. Call 04 93 77 08 36 or drop in to make an appointment.
