The nutritional therapist

Deborah Marzohl is a name you’ll hear a lot of this summer thanks to her work with nutritional therapy and also with ‘Forever Young’ facelift treatments.

Originally from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, it’s easy to see why people-person Deborah left the world of IT and decided to focus on this instead.

For the last six years she has been helping to boost health through nutrition whether that’s children with Attention Deficient Disorder, menopausal women or those with terrible PMS, to managing weight or helping with skin/ digestion problems. Seems like quite a few of us have something that niggles and can be improved in a more holistic manner...

DH: On and off, you’ve been living in area since 1995, so what do you love about the South of France?

Deborah: Actually I love the attitude although that can have a downside too. The idea that rules are to be broken – sometimes it works in your favour. Sometimes it can be really frustrating!

DH: What’s your favourite kind of food?

Deborah: I love fish, especially seafood and learnt to dress a crab thanks to my father and holidays to Scarborough! I love spicy food.

DH: As a nutritionist this is probably a loaded question for you, but what’s your guilty food pleasure?

Deborah: Sour cream and chive Pringles. I daren’t have them in the house! I’ve got taste buds that prefer salty things to sweet.

DH: How long did it take you to learn French?

Deborah: Luckily I already had that from school and a French pen friend.

DH: What do you like and dislike in general?

Deborah: Like most people I love a good sense of humour.

DH: And dislikes?

Deborah: Tardiness. I can’t stand people being late and of course it’s quite a Mediterranean failing.

DH: A little bird told me that you and I share a love of DJ-ing, what type of music are you currently listening to?

Deborah: Dance and Indie bands like Elbow and the Pigeon Detectives, but I’m still listening to the Kaisers Chiefs and The Arctic Monkeys.

DH: What are your top tips for Roquefort Informer readers to have a healthier summer?

Deborah: Very simple.

  1. Hydrate, at least one and a half litres of water every day, more if you’re very active
  2. Don’t skip breakfast
  3. Try to take sugar out of your diet where you can
  4. Eat the brown version of bread/rice/pasta
  5. Eat tons of fruit, vegetables & salad
  6. Exercise - a walk by the sea will lift your mood too

DH: How will you be spending the summer?

Deborah: I’m currently running a diet club on Tuesday lunchtimes in Opio and this is going to evolve into weekly aqua-aerobics.

And I’m giving Alexandra Soveral Forever Young Facelift Treatments at my clinic in Biot. Vogue magazine lists these as one of the best in London and as a special summer special I’m doing them at €40 for 75 minutes (instead of the normal €65) if you book before the end of July.
