The caterer & events manager

Turn on the TV and it’s full of celebrity chefs and cookery programmes, most of which I confess I love watching (!), but I suspect it might be a bit like having a sense of humour... everyone thinks they have a great one, so presumably (with the same logic) everyone thinks they can cook. Let’s face it, not everyone can! I know my culinary limitations so I thought it would be interesting to talk to an expert...

Kate from the fine catering company Adams & Adams has been working in event management & catering for nearly twenty years – half of them on the Riviera - so I’m in safe hands.

‘Why do you think people call on your services Kate?’

‘I think it’s nice for them to spend stress free time with their guests – whether that be family or friends. Most often clients want to use us so they are not stuck in the kitchen and don’t spend all their time clearing up, but actually get to enjoy it.’

‘What’s a typical Adams & Adams event?’

(Laughs) ‘I’m not sure there is such a thing. We’re getting more requests for parties – be that for a small christening, or most recently for Burn’s Night or to mark someone’s retirement to the south of France.’

‘I’m delighted to say this year seems to be a very romantic one! Not just with Valentine’s weekend looming but also for weddings – and it’s not only the royals in the UK and Monaco tying the knot this summer! Love is definitely in the air.’

‘That sounds like it might be a very tall order being the most important day.’

‘Not at all. Actually it’s a lovely time to meet people and we’re happy to help with the whole package from bespoke cakes, to floral designs or the venue itself – whatever the couple want for their big day we can do it for them and in fact we’ve just finished putting together some fabulous new wedding menus.’

‘All our details are on the sparkling newly updated website that’s in French and English where you can also see photos from previous events.’

‘And I should mention that’s also the place to sign-up for our occasional newsletter, that lets people know what’s coming up, as well as details of any special promotions that we
are running.’
