The Property Woman

I like meeting strong professional women and Andree Browne (pictured right) is a case in point.

I’m curious about how she got into this business and she explains: ‘Actually I have a solid corporate background, so that has given me great experience in running a team and getting things done.’

Andree, who lives in Roquefort, started her Yacht & Property Services business over seven years ago and the business divides neatly into three sections.

‘On the Yacht side, we can organise payroll and bookkeeping, as well as manage charters and any admin. On the property side, the team oversees rentals and we do our best to ensure smooth changeovers from St Tropez to Monaco. And on top of this we also offer a concierge service for the owners themselves.’

How does that work and what’s involved?

‘Well it’s really varied. We might need to plan a party or find a chef, to making sure airport runs are covered or pay regular bills.’

And if you’ve bought a house that needs work, you’ll understand why the renovations side of business has become so popular.

‘We’re currently making two small houses down on the coast into one big one,’ Andree confides.

During our chat I can’t help wondering if being a woman makes this job harder, (certainly in the UK the construction business is pretty well male dominated) but Andree assures me it doesn’t. Maybe if anything she brings an eye for the aesthetic to the finish.

Clients very often come to her as the friends or neighbours of existing clients. They have already seen her work and want the same.

She adds: ‘To be honest if they haven’t seen what we do, I would prefer to take them to a finished property so they can see the kitchen or bathrooms for themselves.’ And one of her current projects is a 500m2 house with 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms!

Using contemporary colours, beautiful marble & stone and her exquisite taste, I confess I walk back to my car with just a tiny bit of house envy!
